Remembrance Day ~ Community Gathering
Student Photo Retakes ~ Friday Nov 3rd
Community Gathering ~ Oct 31st @ 2:15
Staff and students will be celebrating Hallowe’en on Tuesday, Oct. 31st and your child is invited to dress up in a costume for the day. Please, however, have your child refrain from wearing any costumes that could be perceived as scary or threatening. We also ask that NO WEAPONS, scary props or Prop MASKS be brought to school. Certain costumes can be intimidating for the younger students and we want to ensure that everyone feels safe on this day.
*Please also note that we ask that costumes follow our district guidelines as per the attached document entitled, ‘Culture is Not a Costume .’
Parents are welcome to join us in the school gym at 2:15PM on this day to watch some of our students perform some short songs and dances, and also participate in a costume parade.
If you are sending treats to school, please ensure these are individually wrapped.
Please contact the school office or your child’s teacher if you have any further questions.
Happy Hallowe’en, everyone
Slow Down in School Zones
Mornings can be dark—especially with unpredictable weather. We are asking families who drop off and or pick up their children to be aware and reminded of the following:
- Speed Limit: Please note that the roads surrounding the school are in a 30 km speed limit zone.
- Please cross the road at CROSSWALKS ONLY. Drivers may not see children crossing mid-block or through cars.
- Please hold the hand of younger children to ensure they do not dart into surrounding roads.
- Please be aware of surroundings before leaving the parking spot you are in.
Please help us make the local area safer for all of our students, staff and community members.

National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
We will be acknowledging this day through art and conversations culminating on Friday, September 29.
Friday the 29th is also Orange Shirt day and we encourage staff and students to wear Orange on this day.
